WELCOME
I love teaching middle school music. I firmly believe that it is an opportunity for students to constantly connect with music in new and exciting ways. From the early history of western cultural music, to how the advances in digital music like iTunes and Spotify have changed our everyday lives, to questions like "why exactly IS One Direction so popular?" middle school music at Green Woods is just a bit...different. On each grade specific page of this website you will find the tools you need to excel in class. Please continue to check the page throughout the year for changes, announcements, and even the occasional one-day-pop-up extra-credit assignment.
Who Is Mr. Zabrodski? |
General Music was my favorite class in elementary school. That was until fourth grade, when I discovered the wonder that is Instrumental Music. I picked up the saxophone, and 21 years later here I am still in awe of music as much today as I was back then. I've played in rock bands, jazz ensembles, cover bands, wind ensembles, reggae groups, and more. I have performed for groups as small as 5 or 10 to as large as 40,000; and as a teacher I perform in the classroom every day of the week. As a 2008 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Music Education, Green Woods became the first place I was lucky enough to call "home". I have been at Green Woods since the 2009/2010 school year, making 2015/2016 my seventh official year teaching General Music to Kindergarten through 8th Graders. Every year gets better, and I'm extremely excited for lucky number 7!
